Abstract	Free and fair elections are crucial for a democracy. The right to choose is one of the fundamental principles of democracy and its integral characteristic. Researchers emphasize that elections to local selfgovernment bodies are the political action on the results of which the further development of the territorial community largely depends and on the basis of which relations between elected bodies and individuals and territorial communities will be formed in the process of local selfgovernment.
