Abstract	Спорт завжди слугував для встановлення миру, допомагав різним народам світу вивчати культуру один одного, створював умови для гуманного вирішення конфліктів, був можливістю для вираження свого таланту кожною людиною та ін. Тому він ніколи не випадав з полю зору суспільства. У представленій роботі авторами проаналізовано питання становлення та розвитку спорту в Україні та за кордоном. Були з'ясовані головні риси та охарактеризовані витоки спорту, що притаманні первіснообщинному ладу Sport has always served to establish peace, helped different peoples of the world to study each other's culture, created conditions for humane conflict resolution, was an opportunity for everyone to express their talent, and others. Therefore, he never fell out of sight of society. In the presented work the authors analyze the issues of formation and development of sports in Ukraine and abroad. The main features and origins of sports, which are inherent in the primitive communal system, were clarified.
